Favorite Gems of San Miguel de Allende - Dinner Edition

San Miguel de Allende has become a top destination in Mexico. A quick flight from Houston (IAH) to Queretaro (QRO) Mexico. Jump on a luxury bus, charge your devices, and relax to San Miguel.

Dinner – everywhere had good vegan options too.

Please note:  there are so many great places. The Mexico City chefs are taking over the city. There are plenty of amazing places. GOOGLE is your friend. Depends on the vibe you want.

  1. Tio Lucas – Local and festive. Friendly owner, live music, and great international fare. Must order the Spanish coffee table side. The live music is different each night.

  2. Hotel 1810 Fatima 7 Rooftop  – Pretty crowd and outstanding cocktails. The “paper plane” cocktail was over the top. The views spectacular of the churches of SMA.

  3. Bovine – High-end chic. Love the vibe of the upscale dining. Not traditional SMA. Make sure you order the cocktail in the bath tub and send me a pic while drinking it.

  4. Atria – Great rooftop for date night. On cool nights, blankets are available. FOOD is the best.

  5. Mam Mia New Location – Where the gays go for dinner. New location. Cool outside seating with live music. Food was good.

MUST MUST MUST – after dinner or late night

  1. Chocolate and Churros or Chocolates Y Churros San Agustin – (San Francisco 21) - You will love it. Line moves fast. Near square. Cannot miss it.  Love love love – great for late night dessert.

  2. San Francisco Tacos / Some call it Insurgentes Street Tacos #85 (not sure it has an official name) – only open 11pm to 4am.  Near Biblioteca There will be a line. Ask for Andy (no one speaks English, so all are Andy – it is sort of a joke).
